Figueres seems like a normal place… until you come across an old theater with gigantic eggs on top of it. The town is famous for this quirky building, the Salvador Dalí Museum (started by the artist himself), and there you can see things ranging from beautiful jewelry, to his many sketches (where he hides himself in the scene), to a canvas vomiting from an overload of pink, and even his tomb. There are plenty of paintings in his characteristic style (including a few stereographic ones) though if incomprehensible mixed-media sculptures bore you.
I didn’t see all the sights of Figueres but it is nice enough to walk through. If anything, visiting the town is a nice escape from the bustle of big-city Barcelona.
